Exhibition about border guards in the Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union Ch. Tuleberdieva

On July 1, 2026, in the exhibition hall-gallery named after Cholponbai Tuleberdiev, with the support of the Joint Directorate of Bishchek Museums, the opening of a historical and documentary exhibition took place «There is no death for the heroes of Brest!». The exhibition is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War and the creation of the Panfilov division.

Its opening was attended by military personnel of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic and students of capital universities. Visitors learned about the fate of soldiers and commanders of the Red Army, drafted into the ranks of the Red Army and Border Troops from the Kyrgyz SSR and who on June 22, 1941 entered into an unequal battle with the enemy within the walls of the Brest Fortress and at border outposts guarding the western sections of the Soviet state border, as well as about a little-known page in the biography of General I.V. Panfilov – his participation in protecting the state border of the USSR in the pre-war period. The exhibition presents archival materials, front-line newspapers published in the first days of the war, photographs of heroes of the battle against fascism. A tour of the exhibition was conducted by the author of the exhibition, director of the center for historical and cultural heritage KRSU Leonid Sumarokov.
