«Great Eurasian Day» in KRSU
On December 8, the «Great Eurasian Day» was held in the main building of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, organized by the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Kyrgyz Republic, the International Festival «Eurasia.DOC» and the Center for Eurasian Studies at the Department of International Relations KRSU.
The rector of KRSU, academician Vladimir Nifadiev, festival director «Eurasia.DOC» Valery Shekhovtsov and head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Kyrgyzstan Albert Zulkharneev addressed numerous guests with words of greeting.
– This year, KRSU paid great attention to Eurasian integration. The Center for Eurasian Studies and the club opened «Issyk-Kul – Greater Eurasia», where we bring together young scientists to study the problems of Eurasia. In our plans –to further increase the Eurasian component in our activities» – noted V. Nifadiev.
As part of «Great Eurasian Day», KRSU students showed an updated political musical «Hello, Integration!»; a presentation of the International Documentary Film Festival of the CIS countries «Eurasia.DOC» took place; a conference of young scientists was held in the conference hall «Eurasian integration associations: prospects for participation in building Greater Eurasia».
At the conference of young scientists, together with students, undergraduates and graduate students, the main issues on the Eurasian agenda were discussed by the dean of the Higher School of Television of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov Vitaly Tretyakov, writer and political scientist Vladimir Sergienko and festival director Valery Shekhovtsov.
The purpose of the conference is to identify the main formats and tools for the development of integration associations within the framework of the project –Greater Eurasia«and assess possible prospects for their interaction.
Among the guests of the Great Eurasian Day was Bishop Savvaty of Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan. Participants in the events were students and teachers of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, heads of the international festival «Eurasia.DOC», experts from Kyrgyzstan and the EAEU countries, and representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo.
«Eurasia.DOC» – documentary film festival of the CIS countries, which since 2016 has been held in Smolensk and Minsk with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States (IFHC). It includes competitive programs (for beginners and experienced directors), open film screenings, round tables, master classes and discussions on current topics in socio-political life.
In 2022, the project program «Eurasia.DOC» was expanded with post-festival events organized in the territories of the CIS countries.
