Associate Professor KRSU recognized as a master of embroidery at the festival «Saimaa 2023»
On April 16, a surprisingly colorful national embroidery festival «Saimaa 2023» was held in Bishkek, where more than fifty craftswomen from all over the country presented their works.
The festival was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic together with the public foundation «Kiiz Duino».
Associate Professor of the Department of International and Constitutional Law KRSU Nasiba Eshmuradova annually participates in this festival, and this year she was awarded the title «Master of Embroidery», on which we congratulate her!
The organizers of the competition chose the theme: «Peace on earth and tranquility in the country», within the framework of which the craftswomen embroidered their works.
National saimaa embroidery – is hundreds of patterns, the ensemble of which can reveal entire narratives or wishes on the canvas. Each region of Kyrgyzstan has its own patterns characteristic of the area, for example, the northern region is characterized by patterns in the form of mountains.
The craftswomen were given two hours, and were also provided with a canvas, a wooden frame and four balls of threads of different colors. The jury assessed not the speed of embroidery, but the quality – cleanliness and evenness of the seams, as well as the semantic content.
Traditional embroidery festival – an important event for needlewomen. It has been held for the fourth year to popularize the ancient craft.
