Foreign students of KRSU visited the Burana Tower
On April 20, at the invitation of the Vice-Rector for International Relations of KRSU, Professor Leila Sydykova, a large group of foreign students (representatives of the medical department and other faculties) visited the historical complex of Buran.
Early in the morning, the guys, with a positive attitude and a thirst for new impressions, left the main building of KRSU by bus, accompanied by a guide and a teacher of the history of Kyrgyzstan, to the main monument of the ancient culture of the Chui Valley.
It was a real, exciting journey with hiking songs, casual communication, new acquaintances, photographs and vivid impressions.
During the excursioneid touched not only on historical aspects, but also told many fairy tales and legends of Ancient Kyrgyzstan that delighted our students. Later they explored the tower and climbed the stairs to the very top, visited the museum and got acquainted with historical artifacts of Kyrgyzstan.
Buran Tower – one of the historical monuments of our sunny Kyrgyzstan. Its construction dates back to the 10th-11th centuries. It is made of baked brick and arch beams. On an octagonal stone plinth there is a round trunk, tapering towards the top, covered with belts of ornamental masonry. There is a spiral staircase leading to the observation deck. The height of the tower is – 21 meters, and the diameter is – 9 meters. Next to the tower is a «rock garden», which contains the so-called «balbals».
After a short expedition, the students expressed gratitude to the international department of KRSU, and the medical students – to their home faculty for the opportunity to become participants in an amazing journey.
