Vyacheslav Valerievich, what work is currently underway to update the university’s infrastructure?
This year we are actively modernizing the university's infrastructure. First of all, attention is focused on the main building; it is here that all official events take place, both in university life and with the participation of distinguished guests and official international delegations.
The condition of the facade, the entrance area, the appearance of the recreation areas, the offices, form the overall impression of KRSU. That is why automatic doors are now being installed at the main entrance, which will not only increase convenience for visitors, but also provide additional security measures.
In addition, a large monitor for video broadcasting is installed in the main foyer of the university. It is located so that students, teachers, staff and guests of the university have the opportunity to quickly receive up-to-date information about news, events and other significant events in the life of KRSU.
What has already been accomplished and what are your immediate plans?
In parallel with the work in the main building, work began on other sites. The process of replacing lighting fixtures with modern energy-efficient lighting systems is nearing completion. This technological solution will allow us not only to reduce energy consumption, but also to improve the quality of lighting in the premises, and we also continue to work on updating window units.
The heating system is being updated in several buildings of the university. We do not ignore sanitary areas; major renovations in a number of toilet rooms will begin in the next few days.
In the near future, repair work will begin to replace the roofing of the buildings of several faculties.
Separately, I would like to note that in the right wing of the main building, where the International Institute of Further Education and Personnel Engineering (MIDOIKI) will be located, a major overhaul of all premises is underway. This will allow us to create modern and comfortable conditions for the effective work of the institute’s employees.
How are these works financed?
The repair work itself and purchases for its implementation are carried out within the framework of the university development program from the budget of the Russian Federation. Thanks to this, we were able to move forward with resolving long-standing issues regarding the repair and modernization of infrastructure.
Are there plans to continue work in other buildings?
Yes, updating university infrastructure is a complex process. We understand that students and teachers are in dire need of comfortable conditions for study and work, so we continue not only previously planned work, but also create work schedules for all buildings of KRSU.
