Publisher KRSU – competition winner «The art of books»
On September 23, the Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic Azamat Zhamankulov presented awards to publishing houses of Kyrgyzstan based on the results of the XIX International Competition «Art of Books» of the CIS member states.
The day before, the results of the competition were summed up by the Interstate Council for Cooperation in the Field of Periodicals, Book Publishing, Book Distribution and Printing. Publishing houses of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Belarus took part in the competition.
77 publications were presented to the jury, which were evaluated in the following categories: «Commonwealth», «My Country», «Book for Children and Youth», «Dialogue of Cultures», «Science and Innovation» and «Educational Literature and Education», «Art book», «Printed in the Commonwealth», «Art of Illustration», «Grand Prix», «Victory».
The publishing house of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University was awarded II degree diplomas for the preparation and publication of two books. Thus, the following were noted: in the nomination «Science and Education» publication of the book by O. Ibraimov «General History of the Kyrgyz State from Ancient Times to the Present»; in the nomination «Commonwealth» work on a documentary-biographical monograph by L. Sumarokov and O. Sumarokova «E.D. Polivanov. An unfinished linguistic symphony».
The International Competition «Art of Books of States – CIS Members» has been held annually since 2004 and is an important result of the practical activities of the Interstate Council for Cooperation in the Field of Periodicals, Book Publishing, Book Distribution and Printing.
The purpose of the competition is to encourage the brightest and most talented endeavors in the field of book publishing, improve the culture of book publishing and develop book art in the Commonwealth countries, and support the common cultural space of the CIS.
