To the periodic system of languages: Kyrgyzstan remembers the great Polivanov
Under this heading, an article by Leonid Sumarokov «Vice-Rector for Information and Public Relations of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. was published on the portal » Rhythm of Eurasia–. The publication opens a series of events that the university plans to hold in honor of the outstanding Russian and Soviet linguist, orientalist and literary critic Evgeniy Dmitrievich Polivanov. On March 12, the scientist turned 130 years old.
Polivanov was so great in his thoughts and deeds that literary critic Viktor Shklovsky called him «the most ordinary brilliant person». This brilliant man dreamed «about the elements of creating a common grammar of all languages, in which phenomena would not only be compared, but the essence of each other would be explained». He tried to make his dreams come true, so he himself became a phenomenon that has not yet been fully solved. University scientists are currently conducting research to uncover the secrets that surrounded the life and work of the great language connoisseur.
