KRSU summed up the results of its work to promote the Russian language

On the eve of 2022, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University made a New Year's gift to three schools in Kyrgyzstan, thereby summing up the results of its activities to strengthen the position of the Russian language.

 

On December 23, the university delegation presented the secondary school № 5 in the city of Kara-Balta with a set of stands for the Russian language and literature classroom, books, image products, and also awarded teachers and students who distinguished themselves in scientific and educational events implemented by KRSU in 2021. The ceremony was attended by Rector Vladimir Nifadiev, Vice-Rector Leonid Sumarokov, and Deputy Director of the Russian Language Institute Olga Sumarokova.

 

In the past year, on the topic of the Russian language, KRSU, represented by the Institute of Russian Language, held 20 events for secondary schools of the Kyrgyz Republic with Russian, Kyrgyz and Uzbek languages of instruction (advanced training courses, master classes, competitions, quizzes, olympiads and marathons). Their organizers were Institute employees Elena Troyanova and Olga Dugina. The scale of the activities carried out is confirmed by Myouth educational festival dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the classic of world literature F.M. Dostoevsky (September 22 – November 20). Its program included: Literary quiz «F.M. Dostoevsky: life and creativity» for 11th grade students of secondary schools, college students; Essay competition «I am opening Dostoevsky» for 11th grade students of secondary schools, college students, university students (1st – 2nd year, bachelor's degree); Book trailer competition «Calling for humanity»: by pages of works by F.M. Dostoevsky for 11th grade students of secondary schools, college students, university students (1st – 2nd year, bachelor's degree); Drawing competition «St. Petersburg – northern capital of Russia» for students in grades 5-11 of secondary schools, college students.

 

Based on the results of these events, the three most active schools in Kyrgyzstan were identified: secondary school № 5 in the city of Kara-Balta, secondary school named after. Kazybay Chylabaeva in the village of Barskoon, Jeti-Oguz district, Issyk-Kul region, boarding school № 11 named after. Valentina Tereshkova in Osh.

 

The prize for them was a set of nine stands for the Russian language and literature office, developed by the Deputy Director of the Institute of Russian Language of KRSU, Doctor of History. Olga Sumarokova. The stands included: «Kyrgyz poets about the Russian language», «Amazing facts about the Russian language», «Russian Language Day», «History of the Russian language in Kyrgyzstan», «Chingiz Torekulovich Aitmatov», «Nine reasons to learn Russian language», «Russian language in the world: numbers and facts». All of them are aimed at creating motivation among the younger generation to learn the Russian language.

 

Leonid Sumarokov, curator of Russian language programs at KRSU, noted: «The results of our activities showed – there are many friends of the Russian language in the republic. The university and staff of the Russian Language Institute in 2021 proposed interesting forms of work that led to an understanding that Kyrgyzstanis consider Russian as the language of creation».
