KRSU took part in the international marathon «Run the Silk Road – SCO» in Issyk-Kul

On May 3, students, teachers and staff of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University took part in the international marathon «Run the Silk Road – SCO», which took place on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in the city of Cholpon-Ata.

The marathon, dedicated to the opening of the tourist season, brought together about 3 thousand participants from more than 20 countries. Among them are — professional athletes and amateurs, representatives of universities, government and international organizations.

Acting Rector Sergei Volkov took part in the race together with students and staff of KRSU. Team members ran different distances — from 3 kilometers to a full marathon of 42 kilometers.

«It's an incredible atmosphere. Seeing our guys run with a smile and support each other means that we have strength, unity and the desire to move forward. This is what makes KRSU special," shared Sergey Volkov.

The marathon became part of the opening program of the tourist season in Issyk-Kul.

KRSU's participation in the marathon underscores the university's commitment to active participation in the country's significant social and sporting events, and helps strengthen team spirit and promote a healthy lifestyle among students and staff.
