KRSU spoke about the feat of Kyrgyzstan in the battle against fascism
The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference – XXIX Moiseev Readings «Russia in the 21st Century: The Great Patriotic War and Historical Memory», organized by the Russian Academy of Sciences and which completed its three-day work on June 23.
The conference, which included universities from several countries, aimed to identify important events in the history of the Great Patriotic War that were most susceptible to criticism and falsification by Western scientific schools and politicians, and to formulate scientifically based arguments and answers.
On the day of the opening of the Moiseev Readings, the rector of KRSU Vladimir Nifadiev addressed its participants with a welcoming speech. Recalling that the conference starts on the eve of an important date in Russian history – the 80th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War, he called on the scientific community to glorify the feat of the soldiers and commanders who showed on June 22, 1941 «unprecedented heroism, defending every inch of Soviet land, showing the enemy on that memorable day that Victory will be ours!». «And all because, – noted the academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, – that this land was native to Russians, Kyrgyz, Belarusians, Kazakhs, Jews, Ukrainians and other nations and nationalities of the great Soviet country, who forged victory at the front and rear».
Conducted by KRSU at the site of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the section «Kyrgyz SSR in the Great Patriotic War: unknown pages of the battle against fascism» brought to the participants of the international scientific forum new information about the contribution of the mountainous republic to the defeat of Nazi Germany and its allies.
The section meeting opened with the memoirs of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Rozalia Dzhenchuraeva about the first battles on the western border of the USSR on June 22, 1941, which she witnessed. «Until today, I can’t shake the feeling of the tragedy that befell our country», – emphasized the daughter of the legendary Soviet border guard Jamankula Dzhenchuraeva. As the People's Poet of Kyrgyzstan, Doctor of Philology Vyacheslav Shapovalov noted in his speech, the response to the scale of the impending threat was the unanimous and powerful response of young Kyrgyz literature, which reflected the unity, patriotism and high spiritual attitude of Kyrgyz society to the defeat of the enemy.
In confirmation of this, participants in the scientific dialogue – historians, university students, representatives of the veteran organization of the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan, activists of the search movement «Our Victory – Bizdin Zhenish» – presented new documentary evidence of the dedication of Kyrgyzstanis in the rear and at the front. They discussed measures to preserve this historical heritage and the memory of the Great Patriotic War, and raised issues of improving the patriotic education of citizens.
Documentary footage from the film «Kyrgyzstan in the Great Patriotic War», which was provided by the Central State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents of the Kyrgyz Republic, presentation of the book by KRSU Vice-Rector Leonid Sumarokov «Every heart beat like Brest!» once again they confirmed the great feat of Kyrgyzstan in the battle against fascism.
The conference, having adopted the final document, noted: «Historical memory of the Great Patriotic War and the Second World War, based on the decisions of the Nuremberg Tribunal and enshrined in the Final Act of the Helsinki Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (1975), – the most important indicator of the civilizational identity of our time».
