New victory for KRSU

The KRSU team was awarded a 1st degree diploma for winning among foreign participants at the 43rd All-Russian Student Olympiad in Material Resistance with International Participation, which was held at the Polytechnic University of St. Petersburg. «Thank you so much for your hospitality and cordiality. Our trip to you exceeded all my expectations, which I am very happy about», — noted the head of the KRSU team Azamat Dzhamankulov.

The final round of the Olympiad was timed to coincide with the 125th anniversary of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The event was organized by the Physico-Mechanical Institute of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. Vice-Rector for Educational Activities of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University Lyudmila Pankova recalled at the opening ceremony that since 1976, the Department of Materials Resistance of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute has initiated the organization of city competitions in sopromat. In 1981, it was decided to hold an annual All-Union Olympiad on material resistance, and since 1991 the event received the status of an All-Russian Olympiad with international participation.

Over all the years of the Olympiad, among the participants were students from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Ukraine and Turkmenistan. Every year, teams from universities throughout Russia, from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, take part in the competition.
