New Year's greetings from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation

Dear friends, I congratulate you on the upcoming new year 2021!

For people who have not stopped being children at heart, New Year — is always a special holiday: a time of joy and optimistic plans. Each of us will have our own memories of 2020. Of course, the year was different. Over the past twelve months, we have greatly changed our usual way of life and switched to digital at an accelerated pace. Today we can already work and study without leaving home.

But the main feature of the past year was that each of us had the opportunity to prove ourselves. Our scientists made history by creating the world's first coronavirus vaccine. Faculty and students have found thousands of effective ways to interact without being present in person at the university. I would especially like to mention the student volunteers: with their kindness, responsiveness and desire to help others, they made this year easier and better for many people.

Of course, there were difficulties, there were mistakes, and many unresolved problems remained. I am convinced that together we can do even the impossible: we have an interesting 2021 ahead of us. By decision of the country's president, it was declared the Year of Science and Technology. For everyone who works in the field of science, higher education and high technology, — this is a year of new prospects and great opportunities. May the most ambitious plans come true in the coming year and may your most cherished dreams come true! New Year — is the time when we gather with loved ones, take stock, make plans for the future and hope for the best. I wish you pleasant and joyful moments in the coming year.
