The results of the competition have been summed up «About the native language in Russian»
June 4 in the foyer of the main building of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. B.N. Yeltsin, the participants of the essay competition «About the native language in Russian», announced on May 15 of this year by the Institute of Russian Language KRSU among students of secondary schools with Russian and national languages of instruction, as well as foreign citizens studying Russian, were awarded.
The competition, dedicated to International Russian Language Day, was held with the aim of arousing and maintaining the interest of young people in their native culture, in the language of their parents and ancestors, promoting interethnic understanding and mutual respect and emphasizing the unifying role of the Russian language and its enormous creative potential for the production and export of knowledge.
In electronic format, 43 essays were presented to the jury, in which declarations of love were made in Russian to Kyrgyz, Russian, Azerbaijani, Tajik, Turkish, English, French, Korean and Chinese. Participants in the competition were students of secondary schools in the cities of Bishkek, Osh, Kara-Balty, Kyzyl-Kii, Mailu-Suu, Kara-Suu, the villages of Issyk-Kul, Barskoon, as well as students from China, Hong Kong, Turkey, Korea, France, USA. The authors discussed the beauty, richness and place of native languages on the linguistic map of the world and in the hearts of speakers, the prospects for their development, bilingualism and respect for other languages.
«Reading the essays submitted to the competition, we noted how wise the younger generation is, – the organizers of the event admitted. – The guys realize the value of their native languages, but rely at least on bilingualism with the leading role of the Russian language – the key to the development of a successful personality, a successful society. We were no less delighted with the works of foreign citizens. Written in beautiful Russian, they are full of national flavor and awaken in the reader the desire to plunge headlong into this magical world of foreign languages and dialects».
Summing up the results of the competition, the rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Academician V.I. Nifadiev emphasized that «fortunately, languages cannot be arranged according to champion’s bedside tables: they are all original and beautiful – regardless of their antiquity or status. And yet there are winners in our competition. They were those who spoke about their native languages more vividly, interestingly and emotionally than other participants».
During the ceremony of presenting diplomas and memorable gifts, the rector wished all participants success in achieving new heights and assured that the best five essays will be published on the pages of the student newspaper KRSU «Student Review».

Certificates in electronic format will be sent to all competition participants by June 20, 2021.
