The project «Urban» won the architectural competition for the concept design of the new KRSU campus
On November 3, in the large assembly hall of the main building, the shortlisted teams Openwow architecturalwow contesta to develop a preliminary design new campus KRSU, presented their works to the expert Commission headed by acting rector Denis Fomin-Nilov.
The final of the competition was preceded by summing up the results taking into account the popular vote. In total, 18 works from qualified architects and students of architectural specialties under the guidance of teachers were submitted to the competition. And only five teams had the opportunity to talk in more detail about their project and answer questions from the expert commission consisting of professors and architects KRSU.
Opening the meeting, D. Fomin-Nilov noted that the dream of a new campus of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University is now at the stage of active implementation.
«The best concept design – is a specific project that, after being finalized taking into account the critical comments of experts, can be given to architects and designers for further implementation. We will take the best of all the presented works, but, of course, there will be only one winner», – emphasized the head of KRSU.
According to the results of the competition, the project «Urban», which was developed by practicing architects Bekzhan Turdubekov, Bekbolsun Zholdoshbekov and Shabdan Saipov, was recognized as the best work. Second and third places in the competition were divided between the remaining four teams – they included current students of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction KRSU.
