The SPbPU working group visited KRSU: new opportunities for cooperation
From 7 to 19 September 2024, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU) hosted a delegation from Peter the Great Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU). The working group included Nikita Golovin, head of the Project Office «Slavic Universities», Maxim Terekh, deputy director of the Civil Engineering Institute, Vera Loboda, deputy director of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications and director of the Higher School of Electronics and Microsystem Technology, as well as Maria Patrina, head of the educational department Directorate of Basic Educational Programs.
During the visit, representatives of SPbPU visited Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology and the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction KRSU. During meetings with faculty directorates and heads of educational programs, prospects for cooperation in the field of academic mobility, development of networking in the implementation of educational programs, advanced training of teachers, as well as the participation of KRSU students in the project «Digital Departments» were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the organization of short-term internships and the admission of bachelor's graduates to master's programs at St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
Based on the results of the discussions, a list of measures for the further development of cooperation between the two universities was determined. In particular, it is planned to deepen interaction in the field of engineering education and expand academic mobility programs.
Deputy Director of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University Maxim Terekh noted that in September 2024, the institute accepted 15 KRSU students for long-term internships in bachelor’s programs «Industrial and Civil Engineering», «Technosphere Safety» and «Architectural Environment Design». «KRSU students were successfully enrolled in the Digital Departments project. In addition, advanced training courses on the topic "Information modeling of buildings and structures" were organized for 30 teachers of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction KRSU», — he said.
An example of successful cooperation is already being implemented: KRSU graduate Sergei Amelichev entered the master's program at St. Petersburg Polytechnic University for the program «Construction mechanics, calculation of structures and foundations». Under this programme, it will continue the research on lightweight steel structures begun at KRSU.
The visit of the SPbPU delegation to KRSU was an important step in strengthening ties between universities and opened up new prospects for the development of joint educational initiatives and scientific projects.
