Expanding the scientific and educational space in Asia
On September 25, KRSU took part in the IV Congress of the Association of Asian Universities. The main topic was summing up the work, coordinating key study programs activities and determining the development strategy of the Association as a platform for network cooperation of leading universities in the Asian scientific and educational space.
At the forum, held online, elections were held for the President of the organization for a two-year term, as well as the admission of new universities to its composition. The rector of the Kyrgyz State University named after Zh. Balasagyn, Kanat Sadykov, was unanimously elected President of the Association.
The Association of Asian Universities was created to form a unified educational space in the Asian region and develop integration processes in the field of higher education, expand academic mobility and cultural ties. At the time of the forum, the ranks of this authoritative organization included 76 higher educational institutions from 9 countries. At the congress, 24 universities from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan became members of the Association.
KRSU was represented at the online meeting by: University Rector, Professor V. Nifadiev, Vice-Rector for Information and Public Relations L. Sumarokov, Head of the International Relations Department Yu. Kalyuzhnaya, Director of the Russian Language Institute M. Tagaev. In order to develop a development strategy for the Association of Asian Universities, they made a proposal to transform the information and analytical journal «Russian Word in Kyrgyzstan» into a journal «Russian Language in Central Asia», making it a platform for all members of the Association to strengthen the position of the Russian language in the Central Asian region, providing it with the status of a scientific publication in the future.
