The rector of KRSU took part in the meeting in the Federation Council of the Russian Federation

Rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Sergei Volkov took part in the meeting held in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The event was chaired by the head of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Liliya Gumerova and was dedicated to the development of inter-parliamentary interaction between Russia and the Kyrgyz Republic.During the meeting, Liliya Gumerova held negotiations with the co-chairman of the Kyrgyz part of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Gulya Kozhokulova. It was noted that regular contacts at the leadership level of the two countries form a stable basis for expanding bilateral cooperation.Liliya Gumerova emphasized the significant contribution of inter-parliamentary interaction to strengthening bilateral relations. According to her, cooperation is developing progressively both at the level of leadership of chambers and relevant committees, and within the framework of the activities of the Interparliamentary Commission. The participation of Russian senators as observers in the early parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic and the interaction of parliamentarians at the platforms of international associations were also noted.During the discussion, special attention was paid to humanitarian cooperation, primarily in the field of education. Liliya Gumerova noted the importance of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University in the Russian higher education system in the Kyrgyz Republic, emphasizing its role in the formation of a common humanitarian space between the two countries.In addition, the continuation of the implementation of large joint projects was noted, including the construction of nine schools in the Kyrgyz Republic with instruction in Russian and the implementation of the program «Russian teacher abroad». They also recalled the commissioning in 2025 of a new building of the boarding school № 11 named after V.V. Tereshkova in the city of Osh, as well as other educational and sports facilities in the city of Jalal-Abad.The meeting was attended by representatives of relevant committees of the Federation Council, the diplomatic corps and the educational community, including the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation Kubanychbek Bokontaev.
