Russian education – the key to success: an alumni forum was held at KRSU

On November 10, a forum of graduates of Russian (Soviet) universities in Kyrgyzstan «Russian education – the key to success» opened in the large assembly hall of the main building. The event is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of KRSU.

Among the organizers are – Association of Graduates of Russian Universities of Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Addressing the forum participants, acting Rector of KRSU Denis Fomin-Nilov noted that many graduates of Russian universities work and make careers in Kyrgyzstan.

– KRSU is a symbol of the integration of Russian and Kyryz education. Our graduates have a double identity. After graduating from university, they receive two diplomas – Russian and Kyrgyz, – added the head of KRSU.

The head of the department of higher, secondary vocational and postgraduate education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Azamat Naimanbaev, voiced the appeal of the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva.

The main thing from her acceptance speech is:

– One of the main goals of higher education is to prepare students for successful employment and career building. In this regard, it is important to work to build an effective system for the transition from study to professional activity and the application of acquired knowledge by university graduates in practice.

Kyrgyzstan and Russia carry out effective cooperation in the field of education. There remains a high demand among Kyrgyz citizens for free education in Russia within the framework of the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation. 1,000 quota places were allocated for the 2023/2024 school year.

I consider it important that the forum is being held at the site of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of Russia B. Yeltsin. Just recently we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the university. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation are working to further develop the joint university and increase the efficiency of its work.

Dear graduates! As part of the forum, you have a unique opportunity to present your best ideas and find like-minded people to implement your projects.

I express confidence that the forum will become an effective platform for discussing issues of training Kyrgyzstanis in Russian universities, their further professional self-realization in the republic and will help strengthen cultural and economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov addressed the participants via video greeting:

– It is symbolic that the forum is taking place at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University – the main scientific and educational platform for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

Dear graduates, you play an important role not only in the development of the national economy, but also in strengthening relations between government, non-governmental and business organizations of both countries. Each of you makes an invaluable contribution to the development of partnership between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, promoting the Russian language and strengthening the friendship of peoples. I am confident that our joint work will contribute to the launch of new educational and scientific projects. Because we have the main thing – the desire to exchange experience and knowledge.

After the official part, at the plenary session, the participants discussed aspects of developing dialogue between Kyrgyz graduates who graduated from Russian (Soviet) universities, as well as ways to unite graduates in order to increase the cultural and economic potential of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

The forum ended with two round tables dedicated to higher education in Russia, opportunities and prospects for graduates from Kyrgyzstan, and employment issues for graduates of Russian universities in Kyrgyzstan.
