The Russian language will connect the Caucasus and the Tien Shan
On February 19, an online meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. took place. Yeltsin (KRSU) with the North Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) on the issue of organizing interaction in the field of strengthening the position of the Russian language. NCFU was represented at the meeting by the head of the international cooperation department Lyudmila Aliyeva, the head of the department Sergei Sidorenko and the deputy director of the Humanitarian Institute Elina Pivanova. From KRSU, the meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for Information and Public Relations Leonid Sumarokov, Head of the International Cooperation Department Yulia Kalyuzhnaya, Director of the Russian Language Institute Mamed Tagaev, and the Department of Russian Language was represented by Associate Professor Marina Kameneva. During the work, the parties noted their interest in implementing joint projects in the field of the Russian language, identified upcoming activities for their successful implementation, and also shared their work experience, including in the development of student initiatives in the humanitarian field.

As Leonid Sumarokov noted during the meeting: «The experience of NCFU – the leading university in Russia – and cooperation with it will be useful in improving the activities of KRSU and its development».
On the eve of the online meeting, KRSU expressed its readiness to join the Consortium «Caspian – East», the idea of which belongs to NCFU and within which academic partners of the Caspian region, Central Asia and the Middle East will develop and implement projects to promote the Russian language.
