In 2001, the World Intellectual Property Organization declared April 26 a holiday for inventors, creators, authors, businessmen and innovators, as well as those who protect the interests of copyright holders. It is a celebration of talented and gifted individuals, patent scholars and patent attorneys and everyone involved in the creation, promotion and commercialization of intellectual property. Innovation and discovery move science and technological progress forward, and creative people and the ideas they embody help solve humanity's global problems, making the world a better place.
