KRSU employees held a meeting with Bishop Savvaty

On October 19, a meeting was held between Bishop Savvaty (Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan Diocese) and representatives of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University – rector, academician Vladimir Nifadyev, vice-rector for scientific work, professor Valery Lelevkin, vice-rector for information and public relations Leonid Sumarokov and dean of the FMO, associate professor Alexey Kulikovsky.

The parties discussed issues of cooperation between the religious, scientific and student communities – in particular, topics of historical education, improvement of educational processes, and methodological support in Orthodox educational institutions were touched upon.

Bishop Savvaty invited KRSU employees to take part in organizing and holding joint events – upcoming St. Anthony and Christmas meetings.

At the end of the meeting, the rector of KRSU V. Nifadiev presented the bishop with books published at the university (several books authored by L. Sumarokov and O. Sumarokova, as well as a translation of the epic «Manas» into Russian in poetic form).
