KRSU employees spoke at a conference organized by the Foundation «Eurasians – new wave»
A conference was held in Bishkek on the topic: «Preservation of interethnic, interethnic and interfaith harmony – the basis of peace and stability of the state».
The event was attended by representatives of government bodies, the expert community and public organizations, as well as teachers and students of the capital's universities.
The discussion addressed two main issues:
–The importance of the cultural and spiritual heritage of the people of Kyrgyzstan for the education of modern youth;
– The role of civil society in strengthening friendship between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
Pavel Dyatlenko, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor at KRSU:
«Nationalism is a tool for mobilizing governance in domestic and foreign policy, in the economy – when fighting for resources.
Ethnic and linguistic nationalism are dangerous for the development of modern states. They cause long-term splits within society, self-isolation from neighboring countries, archaic conservation, serious reputational losses, and retaliatory actions of neighboring states.
Ethnic and linguistic nationalism can be weakened by the country’s participation in regional integration, which accelerates internal modernization processes, increases social and humanitarian ties, opens up new opportunities for self-realization of a large number of people, and reduces the risks of interstate conflicts.
For post-Soviet countries there are working formats of regional integration, for example – EAEU, CSTO and CIS».
Mamed Tagaev, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Director of the Russian Language Institute at KRSU:
«In order to understand each other, have common goals and a common vision of the future, citizens of multinational Kyrgyzstan need a communication channel. Such a tool is the Russian language. Of course, the topic of the state language also needs to be raised. The role and importance of the Kyrgyz language in various spheres of human activity – in state building, education, culture, economics should be high. But this does not mean that we should forget about the Russian language. This is completely unacceptable.
There must be bilingualism in modern Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyz and Russian languages need to be developed evenly. You cannot push the topic of the superiority of one language».
