Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation Mikhail Shvydkoy visited KRSU

As part of his visit to Kyrgyzstan, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation, Mikhail Shvydkoy, visited the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, where he met with Rector Sergei Volkov and talked with students. This is Mikhail Shvydkoy’s third visit to KRSU: he first visited the university in 1994, the second time — last year.During the meeting, issues of modern technological development, the role of culture and theater in public life, as well as the fundamental values underlying Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation were discussed. The meeting was held in the format of an open conversation, where participants were able to exchange views, discuss the challenges of our time and express their vision of future cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.Rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov announced that he had received official confirmation of the allocation of a land plot for the construction of a new university campus. He presented a mock-up of the future campus and also spoke about the infrastructural changes implemented at the university in recent times.«We have received the long-awaited decision to allocate land for the construction of the campus. This is the result of systematic work and support from our partners. We are confident that this project will be implemented», — noted Sergei Volkov.Speaking to students, Mikhail Shvydkoy emphasized the importance of live human communication in the context of digitalization.«You can talk about technology and digital platforms as much as you like, but a lot still depends on human contacts. Moreover, today their role is not decreasing, but increasing», he said.According to him, the development of universities is impossible without a strategic view of the future.«When people think about the future, it happens. When they don't think — it doesn't happen. What I see today at your university speaks of an understanding of the prospects and responsibility for tomorrow», — noted Mikhail Shvydkoy.At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in further developing humanitarian and educational cooperation, and students had the opportunity to ask questions about professional trajectories and international projects.
