KRSU student wins essay contest «Robots and IHL»

A second-year student at the Faculty of Economics, Aziret Zhanybekov, took first place in the Kyrgyz language section.

More than 100 researchers from around the world took part in the essay competition. The competition was held in language sections in Azerbaijani, Armenian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Russian, Tajik, Turkmen, Uzbek and Ukrainian. Each language section was evaluated separately, with many sections having nominations according to different categories of participants.

Despite different academic backgrounds in the field of international humanitarian law (IHL), participants demonstrated a high level of research. Lawyers, teachers, university professors, journalists, schoolchildren, students and many others highlighted the issues of regulating the use of robots during armed conflict, and also analyzed the ethical aspects of the use of autonomous weapons.
