A KRSU student won a silver medal at the International Internet Olympiad in Mathematics
On May 13-14, 2021, in person at the Volga State Technological University (g. Yoshkar-Ola, Russia), Ariel University (city. Ariel, Israel) and the University of Primorska (Slovenia) hosted the final round of the Open International Student Internet Olympiad in Mathematics.
102 students from 57 universities took part in the third round of the Internet Olympiad. The geography of the Olympiad has become more extensive: regions of Russia – from St. Petersburg to Khabarovsk, plus nineteen foreign countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Estonia.
This year, more than 5 thousand participants from 152 universities in Russia and countries near and far competed in the first round, which was held online. 957 of them advanced to the second round, which took place in a mixed mode: in basic universities and in proctoring mode. And only 123 of the strongest mathematics students from 6 countries were invited to the III round, which was held in a mixed form: full-time participation (Israel and Russia) and remote participation (CIS countries and Slovenia) – due to the epidemiological situation in the world.
According to the results of the competition, Danil Kochubey, a student of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of KRSU (ITS-2-19 group), was awarded a silver medal at the Olympiad.
