KRSU students discussed current problems of the modern world within the framework of an interfaculty conference
On February 25, the Department of Foreign Languages KRSU held a traditional interfaculty scientific and student conference in English «Current problems of the modern world». Students from the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of Law of the university took part in the event.
At the plenary session, the dean of the FMO, Alexey Kulikovsky, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He noted the importance of the event, the relevance and diversity of the topics of student reports and wished young researchers to successfully share the results of their research work with the audience, as well as to ensure the correctness of their conclusions during the discussion of the presentation with other conference participants.
The head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Marina Yurchenko, addressed the conference participants as the future elite of the country, which will decide the fate of our people. Marina Gennadievna noted that the Department of Foreign Languages considers it important to hold such conferences, the purpose of which is not just to make a report in a foreign language, but also to learn to listen and be heard in the professional community, to be able to correctly and clearly express your ideas and defend them.
During the work of two sections, participants discussed over 20 reports touching on current problems of Kyrgyzstan – ecology and development of tourism, economic development of the country and energy, sexual education of youth, family violence, children's rights, as well as the problems of homeless people and animals. The greatest interest and heated discussions were aroused by messages devoted to issues of unemployment and forced labor migration, problems of social inequality and the influence of Islam on the political life of the country and, of course, freedom of speech.
Future lawyers and diplomats discussed important issues «knowingly» – many students combine their studies with work in non-profit organizations and the media.
The jury members, who included master's students from the department of political science in addition to teachers, had to solve a very difficult problem: to select the best speakers. As a result, they became students Aikanysh Kasymbekova and Aiturgan Sadykbaeva (department of international relations), Kanyshay Abilova (department of political science), Adela Imenova and Danilbek kyzy Munira (department of international journalism), as well as students of the Faculty of Law Dariga Kuttugalieva and Aruuke Salieva. All of them demonstrated not only a high level of language proficiency, the ability to use the latest statistical and information data for their speeches, the ability to conduct discussions, but also skill in preparing and designing presentations. The guys rightfully received certificates for the best reports at the conference. The remaining participants received commemorative certificates for active participation. The certificates also noted the clear and coordinated work of the conference moderators – law student Askarbek Kalmurzaev and FMO student Anastasia Belova.
