KRSU students win the weiqi tournament
A master class and a blitz tournament in the game of Go were held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The tournament was organized by the Department of World Languages KRSU and the Kyrgyz Go Federation.
Teams of students from KRSU, BSU, KNU, Bishkek Technological College KOMTECHNO and students from the school took part in the tournament №9.
Ruslan Arbiev, Vice-Rector for Development of KRSU, made an opening speech. He noted that mind games competitions teach players logic, lateral thinking, strategy and defense, which is a useful skill for any thinking person.
The guests of honor of the event were the Director of the Confucius Institute at BSU from the Chinese side, Mrs. Du Hua and from the Kyrgyz side, G. Isamatova, the Director of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Institute of KNU Apaeva S. and the Representative of the General Chamber of Commerce of Fujian Province in Central Asia, Mr. Li Bei Bei.
All over the world, go is perceived not just as an intellectual exercise, but also as an assistant for making decisions in everyday life. It is noteworthy that Go can be played by both people with developed rational thinking and those who are accustomed to being guided by intuition.
The organizers prepared small presentations for the master class participants, which reflected the basic rules and strategies of the game of Go. As noted, go requires a square board symbolizing the Earth, and round stones in black and white as symbols of Heaven. Go —'s goal is to occupy most of the unoccupied territories, leaving behind the enemy.
The newcomers built their first combinations with great interest and passion. Based on the results of the tournament first place went to Diana Suleymanova (KRSU), second place to Hu Xiang (KNU) and bronze to the youngest participant Asad Amanov (school №9). After the master class, it became clear that there were more Go fans.
