KRSU students spoke about the feat of the Soviet soldier
On March 3, an expert youth online conference was held «Rzhev Memorial: the story of the feat of a Soviet soldier».
The event was organized by the Foundation «Eurasians – New Wave» in partnership with the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B. Yeltsin. The conference was attended by public figures, students and teachers of the capital's universities.
From KRSU, the conference was attended by Vice-Rector for Information and Public Relations Leonid Sumarokov and law students, who spoke about the university’s experience in restoring the history of unknown exploits of Kyrgyzstanis during the Great Patriotic War. Nagima Asanova and Eduard Elzar made a report «I was killed near Rzhev. Restoring the fighting fate of Kyrgyz Nurlan Bozoev». Second report «Snipers of the 8th Guards Rifle Division named after Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General I. Panfilov in the Battle of Rzhev» was made by Usenbek uulu Emir and Ruslan Ataev.
Battle of Rzhev – a bloody battle during the Great Patriotic War, which took place in the area of the Rzhev-Vyazemsky salient from January 5, 1942 to March 21, 1943. It included four offensive operations by Soviet troops of the Western and Kalinin fronts against the German Army Group «Center». The battles took place in the Rzhev area, in the Moscow, Tula, Kalinin, and Smolensk regions.
Writer Ilya Ehrenburg wrote: «I will not forget Rzhev. For weeks there were battles for five or six broken trees, for the wall of a broken house, and a tiny tubercle». The battle, which became one of the bloodiest in the entire history of mankind, was an important page in the chronicle of the courage and valor of the Soviet soldier.
