KRSU students spoke about the role of youth in the EAEU
Students of the department «International Relations» KRSU took part in a youth discussion on the topic «EAEU – window of opportunity for modern youth», held on February 16 at the initiative of the Foundation «Eurasians – new wave».
During the event, representatives of the university were able not only to communicate with their peers from the Kyrgyz National University. Zh. Balasagyn, International University of the Kyrgyz Republic and Bishkek State University. K. Karasaev, but also express their position on the problems of youth cooperation within the EAEU. The topics of the reports of KRSU students were relevant: «Youth as one of the priorities of the EAEU policy», «Trends and features of regulation of labor migration processes in the EAEU: lessons for Kyrgyzstan», «Migration from the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation and its socio-economic consequences», «Problems and prospects for Kyrgyzstan's participation in the EAEU».
Kuanyshbek Mykyev drew the attention of the discussion participants to the need to use the potential of social and humanitarian interaction between states – members of this international organization and give a greater role to student contacts in this process.
Alibek Utemisov believes that integration participants have reserves for this, such as a common past and the absence of a language barrier. These circumstances are especially important to take into account in the context of growing migration in the Eurasian space, which is especially large among young people.
In this regard, according to Lydia Lee, the creation of a system of social guarantees for migrants in the EAEU is a beneficial factor. «Migration, – she said, – allows for maintaining political and socio-economic stability in «labor-surplus» countries. It is a great achievement that social security for workers from the Member States of the Union is provided under the same conditions and in the same manner as for nationals of the State of employment».
Asemgul Kanatbek kyzy noted that the main advantage for Kyrgyzstan from joining the EAEU is that a huge market has opened up for the country. At the same time, customs barriers were removed, and the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund began to function successfully. «Ideally, all this should have allowed our entrepreneurs to sell domestic products to neighboring countries in large volumes, – the future diplomat stated. – But the facts indicate the opposite – food exports from Kyrgyzstan have not increased significantly. This block is very important and worth paying attention to. Also because there are quite a few young people among farmers and businessmen».
