Medical students move science and strengthen cooperation
On May 20, the final scientific and practical conference of young scientists and students of the medical faculty KRSU was held at the Center for Education, Science and Culture (CONIC) of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.
Preparations for the conference showed that the pandemic did not in any way reduce student interest in science. A total of 210 applications for reports were received from 354 authors, of which 36 were prepared in video format.
The reports, after selection and editing, were distributed into sections: fundamental and experimental medicine, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, hygiene and health care, covid and HIV infections and the largest beginning researchers.
The geography of the presented works covered Kyrgyzstan (170), Russia (17), Uzbekistan (10), Kazakhstan (3), Belarus (1). KRSU (139), KSMA (33), MVSM (1) and OshSU (1) participated from universities of the Kyrgyz Republic. From other countries – students of the Russian National Research Medical University named after. N.I. Pirogov, Novosibirsk, Volgograd, Kuban and Omsk State Medical University, Kazakh National Medical University, West Kazakhstan State Medical University, Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute, Andijan State Medical University, Donetsk National Municipal University, etc.
The works were evaluated by a competent jury, which included leading scientists, teachers from KRSU and KSMA, as well as 20 young employees and students.
Of course, such a rich program required a lot of effort and intense 8-hour work from all participants, which, however, did not exclude breaks for rest, communication and lunch. Fortunately, the weather was beautiful and the youth were in a fighting mood!
It is no coincidence that just before the start of the plenary session, songs were performed by talented representatives of the faculty youth parliament.
But the most interesting thing happened during the work of the sections. Many student reports easily captured the attention of listeners, raised many questions, and led to emotional discussions. Moreover, the discussion was often conducted in three languages: Kyrgyz, Russian, English. Especially in cases where the speakers were foreign students of KRSU and KSMA (mainly representatives of beautiful India).
After many hours of work, the members of the high jury summed up the results of the conference, which were announced by the section leaders at the final meeting. The authors of the best works were also awarded there.
The most interesting reports were earned by 23 first degree diplomas, 31 – second and 41 – third. At the same time, fifteen of them were awarded to representatives of KSMA, one – authors from West Kazakhstan State Medical University.
In addition, as always, certificates were provided in various categories: «for active participation» (16), «oratory» (7), «high scientific and organizational abilities» (12), «mastery of discussion» (6), «relevance of the work for theoretical and clinical medicine» (8) «high reliability of the results obtained» (9) and «successful scientific debut» (11).8 of them were earned by KSMA students, about 10 – representatives of foreign universities.
