An office of the Eurasian Development Bank will open in KRSU
It is planned to open a special office of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU). This became known at a meeting between the acting rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov and representatives of the bank. Manager of the EDB Representative Office in the Kyrgyz Republic Mirlan Omuraliev emphasized that the opening of the office is aimed at supporting and developing competencies in the field of public-private partnership (PPP), as well as strengthening cooperation between educational and financial structures.
EDB — is an international financial organization founded by six founding countries: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. At the moment, the bank is implementing a number of large infrastructure projects in Kyrgyzstan with a total portfolio of about $200 million. Among them are the construction of hydroelectric power stations, factories and a bypass road in the city of Uzgen. Particular attention is paid to projects aimed at institutionalizing public-private partnerships in the region.
Sergey Volkov noted that the concept of branded audiences is actively developing in KRSU. "We are already working on personalized offices, and opening the EDB auditorium at the Faculty of Economics — is a logical step. It will be a space equipped with modern machinery and equipment where students can gain the necessary knowledge and practical skills in PPPs," he said.
It is planned that the new office will become a training site for teachers of universities and government agencies. Particular attention will be paid to improving the qualifications of civil servants, training specialists in PPPs and scholarship institutions.
The next meeting with the PPP Competence Center, where details of cooperation and further steps will be discussed, will take place next week.
