KRSU hosted an international symposium dedicated to Sacred Delphi
On December 9, the International Symposium «Sacred Delphi in the context of world culture: Greek-Slavic-Turkic interactions» dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Professor Milana Lazaridi was held in the conference hall of the main building of KRSU.
Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of KRSU, Professor Valery Lelevkin addressed the event participants with an opening speech. He recalled the significant contribution of M. Lazaridi to the organization of the educational process (for this, the hero of the day was awarded the title «Honorary Professor of KRSU») and wished those present productive work.
– Greece, as a cultural center, has made a great contribution to the development of world civilization. The Delphic Oracle in the Temple of Apollo in ancient times acted as a meeting place for pilgrims who sought answers to philosophical questions. Interest in Delphi has not faded even today, – noted V. Lelevkin.
Then the director of the Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences KRSU, Professor Mamed Tagaev, addressed the audience.
– Greece is rightfully considered the cradle of world civilization, and Delphi – is memory, the pinnacle of the Greek world. Milana Isakovna Lazaridi is bloodily connected with the Greek people and with her research she returns us to the origins of science and the development of civilization.
The symposium continued its work in three sections: «Ancient Hellas as the basis of world culture», «Main directions and prospects for the development of linguistics and literary criticism» and «The connection between the spiritual culture of the East and Hellenism». Scientists and experts discussed the role of Greek civilization in the development of world culture, considered issues related to the spiritual culture of the East, Byzantium, Ancient Rus' and many. etc.
