KRSU hosted the first interuniversity quiz in immunology in Kyrgyzstan
On March 2, in the large assembly hall of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, the first Interuniversity student quiz in immunology in our country, dedicated to World Immunity Day, was held, organized by the Department of Epidemiology and Immunology of the Faculty of Medicine KRSU. Its participants were 2nd year students of medical universities of the Kyrgyz Republic: KRSU, KSMA (2 teams) and Jalal-Abad State University.
The quiz was opened with a poetic opening speech by the dean of the medical faculty of KRSU, Professor Anes Zarifyan. He also read out the order of the rector, academician Vladimir Nifadiev, conferring the title «Honorary Professor of KRSU» on the head of the department of epidemiology and immunology, Doctor of Medical Sciences Bubusaira Orozbekova.
During the event, teams competed in knowledge of the structure and function of the immune system, as well as the mechanisms of its functioning.
The program included 5 competitions: business card; homework on the topic: «Mechanisms of humoral and cellular immune response»; competition «Connoisseurs»; puzzle competition on the structure and function of immune system cells; «Dark Horse» – showing a slideshow dedicated to the central and peripheral organs of the immune system.
The teams' performances were evaluated by a high jury, which included: Doctor of Biological Sciences Irina Pashnina, senior researcher at the Institute of Immunology and Physiology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences Mikhail Bolkov (both – Yekaterinburg), Professor Vera Toigombaeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology Aliman Umuralieva, Associate Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology Adalat Myrzabekova (all – KSMA), lecturer at the Department of Morphological Disciplines and Public Health at Jalal-Abad State University Gulumkan Bukhavidinova.
The event ended with a speech by Professor I. Pashnina, who announced the results of the quiz and congratulated its participants.
Based on the results of all competitions, the KRSU team «Haptens» (Diploma of the 1st degree) took 1st place; the KSMA team «T-killers» (Diploma of the 2nd degree) took 2nd place, and 3rd place was shared by the teams «Aleksin» (KSMA) and «Immunity» (ZhaSU), which earned Diplomas of the 3rd degree.
All quiz participants received commemorative certificates.
