A strategic session on the development of the university until 2030 starts at KRSU
From November 28 to December 4, 2024, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University will host a large-scale strategic session dedicated to the development of a university development plan until 2030. This unique event attracted more than 200 applications, from which the top 50 representatives of the academic, scientific and management fields were selected, as well as a student from KRSU. The event was organized with the aim of forming a strategy that will allow KRSU to become a leading university in Central Asia and strengthen the position of Russian education in the international arena.

Programme and key themes
The session will be held in the format of group work and plenary sessions. Participants will focus on current challenges and opportunities in the educational field, including
• Analysis of the current state of the university: achievements, problems, prospects.
• Current trends in higher education: competitiveness, international cooperation, innovation in educational programs.
• Developing an image of the future: strategic directions, key performance indicators.
The programme includes lectures by leading experts, interactive discussions and group sessions. Moderators and speakers include
• Olga Nazaykinskaya, director of the Center for Educational Transformation at the SKOLKOVO School of Management;
• Ilya Obabkov, director of the Institute of Radio Electronics and Information Technologies of the Ural Federal University.

Interdisciplinary approach
Participants are divided into divisions that cover key aspects of the university’s activities: science, educational programs, material and technical base, international cooperation.
Affiliate day
The program involves the involvement of external experts and representatives of the business community to evaluate the developed strategies. This will take into account the views of different parties and strengthen partnerships.
Final result
At the final stage of the session, the final development strategy of KRSU until 2030 will be presented. The document will bring together the best ideas and proposals, and will include a roadmap for implementation with specific deadlines and responsible implementers.

Key objective — sustainable development
The opening speech at the opening of the event will be given by the acting rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov. He noted that the strategic session will not only be an important step for KRSU, but also a guideline for other universities in the region.
