State policy in the field of the Russian language was discussed in Moscow: participation of KRSU in the V Kostomarov Forum
At the State Institute of Russian Language named after A.S. Pushkin in Moscow a round table was held on the topic «On state policy in the field of protection, support and development of the Russian language». The event took place within the framework of the V Kostomarov Forum — a significant international platform that brought together representatives of the scientific and educational communities from more than 100 countries.
The round table was chaired by the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Liliya Gumerova. Opening the meeting, she emphasized the symbolism of the date on which the event took place.
«It takes place on the eve of Pushkin’s birthday. He was the first to speak about the irreplaceable role of language in the formation of Russia, and the first to call for treating the Russian language as the most valuable wealth that must be protected and increased. Pushkin's language — our heritage and main soft power. It is no coincidence that on the poet’s birthday we also celebrate Russian Language Day, which serves as the basis for the formation of our unique cultural code», — noted Gumerova.
Among the round table participants are rectors of leading universities, representatives of relevant ministries, international experts and the scientific community. The acting rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. took part in the discussion. Yeltsin Sergei Volkov.
In his speech, he noted that KRSU plays a special role in the humanitarian dialogue between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, being an important center for the promotion of the Russian language, science and culture in the region.
«Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University — is not only an educational project, but also a cultural mission. We see our task as training highly qualified specialists who are fluent in the Russian language, as well as creating a scientific environment where Russian studies is developing as an academic and practical discipline. Through teaching, research, and cultural events, we strengthen the role of the Russian language as a means of international interaction», — emphasized Sergei Volkov.
The key topics of the round table were the preservation of linguistic and cultural heritage, increasing the prestige of the profession of teaching the Russian language, the development of a scientific and methodological base, as well as the expansion of international cooperation in the field of Russian studies. Particular attention was paid to current problems faced by Russian language teachers abroad: shortage of personnel, gap between generations of specialists, shortage of modern methodological literature.
At the end, the round table participants confirmed the importance of coordinating efforts in the field of language policy and expressed their readiness for further interaction. It was emphasized that the preservation and promotion of the Russian language should remain a priority for countries interested in strengthening cultural and educational ties in the Eurasian space.
KRSU's participation in such international platforms confirms its active role in the development of humanitarian cooperation and the promotion of the Russian language as the most important element of the educational and cultural environment of Kyrgyzstan.
