Cheerful and resourceful: an intellectual game took place at the Faculty of Medicine «Chemistry in Medicine»

On May 27, on the eve of Chemist's Day, an Olympiad (intellectual game) of cheerful and resourceful chemists was held at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Faculty of Medicine KRSU. Teams of 1-2 years of specialties «General Medicine» and «Pediatrics» competed.
Colorful posters, ironic facts about chemistry posted on the walls, a sea of balloons – even before the event began, it was felt that the event would not disappoint the audience and participants.
After a welcoming speech from the dean of the Faculty of Medicine A. Zarifyan and the head of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry N. Matyushchenko, the game was launched. 4 teams met in it: «Irreplaceable» (pediatric team), «Chylomicrons», «Cahill Children» and «TripToFun» (teams of medical clinics).
Each team has prepared a business card – «Let me introduce myself». These original greetings were praised by the jury, who singled out the team «TripToFun».
The main part of the event was an intellectual game, including the categories: «Warm-up» in 2 stages – Riddles «Brain Chemist» and What I saw «Brain Chemist»; «Black Box», practical tour «Recognize the substance», «Chemical crossword», «Race for the leader» and a competition for fans – «Cheerleader». A captain's competition was also held. Team members successfully demonstrated the knowledge gained from studying chemistry and biochemistry. 1st year students took part in the nomination «Layout».
Throughout the Olympiad, talented students of the Faculty of Medicine performed during pauses between competitions. Dancing, singing and playing musical instruments did not let the packed lecture hall get bored.
The final stage was homework. The teams' creative performances reflected the main biochemical processes in the form of dramatic skits.
A total of 76 students took part in the competition.
When summing up the results, the jury members noted that our students are talented, smart and inquisitive and thanked them for the pleasure they received from the game.
The winners of the competition were students from the following teams:
Diploma of 1st degree <TAG1> Chylomicrons«;
Diploma of the 2nd degree <TAG1>TripToFun»;
3rd degree diploma <TAG1>Imperable«and » Cahill's Children«.
The teams and participants of the competition were awarded with memorable diplomas, certificates of various nominations and rewarded with additional points added to the rating in the disciplines studied at the department. The jury was also noted by the SNO of the Parliament of the Faculty of Medicine and students who actively showed themselves in the creative competition.
The Olympics were remembered by all participants, including the jury members, as a kind, interesting, bright, fun and educational event.
