XIX Congress of the All-Russian Public Organization

On November 23, 2023, the 19th Congress of the All-Russian public organization «Russian Society of Medical Historians» was held with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Scientific Council on the History of Medicine of the Medical Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Historical Society, the Society of Doctors of Russia, and the National Medical Chamber.

The purpose of the congress is to consider the current state of the history of medicine in Russia and the world, identify existing trends in scientific research, analyze existing problems and determine development prospects.

The plenary session was addressed by the Chairman of the Society of Medical Historians, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Konstantin Anatolyevich Pashkov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tatyana Sergeevna Sorokina.

Current issues of teaching the history of medicine in medical universities and attracting students to participate in Olympiads in the history of medicine were discussed. Information is given about the opening of a dissertation council on the history of medicine.
