Bright debutants

May 18-20 within the walls of the First Moscow State Medical University named after. AND. Sechenov, the Third All-Russian Pediatric Forum of Students and Young Scientists was held with international participation, to which our KRSU delegated a 6th year team of specialty «Pediatrics» consisting of Yulia Rulevskaya, Kanybek Omokeev, Violetta Evgrashina, Artur Moidunov and Venera Shiderbekova (under the guidance of a senior lecturer of the Department of Pediatrics S. Zeyvald).

As part of the forum, which brought together more than 30 teams from leading medical universities and faculties of Russia, as well as two (KRSU and KSMA) from Kyrgyzstan and one from Belarus, several competitive events took place:

• scientific and practical conference on 8 areas of pediatrics;
• first Pedagogical Interdisciplinary Student Olympiad «Kaleidoscope of Knowledge» (for 1st-2nd year students);
• third All-Russian Olympiad «Pediatrics Virtuoso» for 4-6 year students.

The delegation of our university, which took the name «D-dimer» (this is one of the main markers of the state of the blood coagulation system), took part in all major competitions, and not without success!

Thus, our team’s business card, filmed with the participation of the KRSU Television Center, turned out to be one of the best.

On May 18, future pediatric doctors took part in a scientific and practical conference with research work «Bronchial obstruction in children in the city of Bishkek» (scientific supervisor Sh. Sulaimanov). After this speech, the leading pediatrician-pulmonologist at the children's clinical hospital, Professor A. Malakhov, noted: «The guys from KRSU became the first. They were out of reach in terms of audience sympathy and overall their performance looked great!». However, the real struggle was still ahead.

On May 19, the participating teams competed in the polymath competition «All or Nothing», and also completed a medical quest through 10 stations of the virtual clinic of Sechenov University. At the same time, no more than 15 seconds were given to answer the question and the results of the competition were not announced. According to the participants themselves, they answered most of the questions posed correctly.

On May 20, the team split into the following contests by drawing lots: competition on medical care skills (the team was represented by Violetta Evgrashina and Kanybek Omokeev); competition on professional communication skills between doctor and patient (Venera Shiderbekova); competition on the skills of objective examination of a pediatric patient (Arthur Moidunov); clinician competition «Five questions» (Yulia Rulevskaya).

It’s nice to note that our Venera Shiderbekova became the leader in her competition. And this is no coincidence. After all, even during the founding of our faculty, as we remember, Professor V. Solozhenkin developed a unique medical and psychological cycle, including issues of communication between the doctor and the patient, the patient’s relatives and his colleagues.

In general, the guys coped with all the tasks, with the exception of the last competition, confidently.

And yet they fell a little short of the prize place. The steps of the pediatric podium were distributed as follows: the host team of the Forum was at the top; The second place was taken by the KSMA team (which participated in this competition for the third time), the Tomsk team came third with a score of 208.3 points.

Our debutants were in 4th place, scoring 203.8 points.

Well, we sincerely congratulate our fellow countrymen «Akademovites», and now, having gained experience from these competitions, we plan to achieve more in the next academic year.
