The essay competition for Pushkin Day has ended

On the eve of International Russian Language Day, celebrated annually on June 6, the Russian Language Institute named after. A.O. Orusbaeva KRSU held an essay competition «My Pushkin» among students in grades 8-11 of secondary schools with Kyrgyz, Uzbek and Russian languages of instruction, as well as college students.

High school students were asked to talk about their favorite Pushkin works, about how they got acquainted with the poet’s work; reflect on why Pushkin’s poetry and prose are close to the modern reader.

30 school students took part in the competition. Bishkek, Osha, Razzakova, Kadamzhaya, Naryn, Mailuu-Suu, villages of Chui, Issyk-Kul, Jalal-Abad regions, students Vocational College of KNU named after. Zhusup Balasagyn (g. Bishkek) and the College of Foreign Languages and Programming of Computer Systems at NSU. S. Naamatova (g. Naryn).

When evaluating the essay, the contestants’ ability to independently reason, argue their position, mastery of the norms of the Russian literary language, and a creative approach to completing the task were taken into account. The jury noted the great interest of young people in studying the poems and prose of A.S. Pushkin, the desire of the children to independently master his enormous creative heritage. The competition participants not only shared their understanding of the depths of famous poetic masterpieces, but also tried to analyze Pushkin’s works from the perspective of realities and values XXI centuries.

Almost every work noted that Pushkin– is a poet who comes to us at the very beginning of his life to accompany us throughout its entire duration. In moments of joy and sadness, Pushkin’s poetry is always next to us; it brings moral height to everyday life, teaches us to think and live correctly. The uniqueness of Pushkin's poems, the authors of the essays believe, lies in their beauty the accuracy and freshness of Pushkin’s immortal word, expressing a wide range of thoughts and feelings, in an amazing variety of intonations close to the modern young reader.
