80 years of Victory — 80 trees of memory
At the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction, a cleanup day was held dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Instead of drawings — shovels and gloves, instead of an audience — spring sun and buzzing conversation. As part of the event, the territory of the faculty was cleared and 80 trees were planted — according to the number of years that have passed since the Victory.
The cleanup was attended by the acting rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov, deans of faculties, teachers, university staff and student organizations. Total — more than a hundred participants.
«Today's cleanup day — is not only a contribution to the improvement of the university, but also a manifestation of respect for historical memory. We honor the feat of those who gave us a peaceful sky, and strive to convey this feeling of gratitude to future generations», — noted Sergei Volkov.
Students admit: for them, participating in such an event — is a way to touch history. «Planting trees — is our way of expressing gratitude to the heroes. We are proud that we can contribute to preserving their feat», — said one of the students.
Despite the working atmosphere, the mood was cheerful — students and teachers joked, took selfies, and helped each other. Each tree received its own «story» — someone planted it in memory of a front-line relative, someone wanted to leave a mark on the university grounds.
The cleanup became not only an environmental initiative, but also an important element of patriotic education, uniting the university community in a single impulse — to honor, remember, create.
