The KRSU delegation takes part in SPIEF 2026

A delegation of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, led by Rector Sergei Volkov, takes part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026).As part of the business program of the forum, Sergei Volkov took part in a session «Economics of Innovation: on the partnership between university science and business» dedicated to issues of interaction between universities, scientific organizations and industrial partners.Participants discussed mechanisms for introducing scientific developments into production, training for high-tech industries and the role of universities in providing technological leadership.One of the key topics of discussion was the development of long-term cooperation between science and business. Experts noted that companies often need quick and practical solutions, while the scientific community is focused on research and acquiring new knowledge. That is why building an effective dialogue that allows turning scientific developments into in-demand technologies and products remains an important task.Particular attention was paid to government measures to support university science. Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Olga Petrova emphasized that close interaction between universities and industrial partners is a necessary condition for achieving the country’s technological sovereignty.According to her, programs «Priority 2030» and advanced engineering schools create effective mechanisms for integrating science and production. Today, 50 universities participate in the project of advanced engineering schools, and business not only creates a demand for developments, but also actively invests in their implementation. For every ruble of government investment, there are about three rubles of investment from companies.The session participants noted that the most successful projects are implemented where business acts not only as a customer, but also as a full-fledged partner of universities, participating in shaping the research agenda, financing developments and training specialists.The session was attended by representatives of leading Russian universities, major corporations and development institutions, including Sberbank, Rostec, MIPT, ITMO University and the Moscow Innovation Cluster.The participation of the KRSU delegation at SPIEF 2026 is aimed at strengthening international academic cooperation, developing partnerships with industrial companies and studying the best practices for interaction between science, education and business.
