The SFU delegation took part in the anniversary events KRSU
«Slavic is more than a university!». Under this slogan, from 11 to 13 October 2023, celebrations dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B. Yeltsin were held in Bishkek.
The celebration was attended by representatives of government authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, heads and students of Slavic universities and partner universities, as well as a delegation of the Siberian Federal University, which is the curator university KRSU according to the program «Slavic Universities».
The role of KRSU was noted by Russian President Vladimir Putin. As part of the official visit of the President of Russia to the Kyrgyz Republic, the Head of State and the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov signed a number of joint documents.
From the speech of Vladimir Putin: «Today another significant anniversary is celebrated – 30th anniversary of the founding of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. This once again emphasizes the multifaceted nature of the Russian-Kyrgyz partnership, which covers a variety of areas and, naturally, cultural and humanitarian».
KRSU was created by the Governments of Kyrgyzstan and Russia in 1993. Currently, more than 7 thousand students study at the university. Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov noted the role of partner universities, including the Siberian Federal Development Slavic University: «30 thousand graduates of KRSU, who today work for the benefit of Russia and Kyrgyzstan, – this is a serious and significant result, the merit of many generations of teachers. Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University – unique project. It has taken place and is developing thanks to the interest and constant involvement of the two states».
As part of the business program of the anniversary, the following were held: panel discussion «Slavic University 2050: prospects and priorities», International scientific and practical conference «Russian-national universities – bridge for the integration of education and science of the CIS countries». An exhibition «Slavic is larger than a university» was held on the square in front of the main building of KRSU, and a presentation of competitive works took place – concept design for the future university campus. In addition, the premiere screening of a film about the history of KRSU named after. B. Yeltsin «30 years on the path of creation» and presentation of the information publication «Slavic is more than a university». It is important to note that over a film the team of the SFU Production and Production Center worked. Also, students of the SFU Media Park and employees of the information policy department conducted a series of master classes on media for students and employees. The SFU Media School was held as part of the Kyrgyz-Russian Student Media Forum.
Rector of Siberian Federal University Maxim Rumyantsev: «The proposal of our founder, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, to build regular and systematic interaction with the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University has become for us another important stage in the development of cooperation with universities of the Kyrgyz Republic. If for the first two years we worked in a format that was understandable to everyone – we shared our competencies, held summer schools, advanced training, and student festivals, then this year required us to concentrate our efforts on issues of strategic development of KRSU. In fact, my colleagues from the Slavic University and I formed proposals for its development program. We have identified general lines of cooperation. They are related to promising socio-economic areas of activity for the country and are based on the scientific and educational capital available in KRSU and Siberian Federal University».
