UNESCO Philosophy Day
On November 18, events dedicated to the celebration of UNESCO World Philosophy Day were held at the Faculty of Humanities KRSU. The holiday has been officially celebrated since 2005 every third Thursday of November in more than 70 countries.
The Department of Philosophy organized and held a round table on the topic: «Challenges of modernity and philosophy», dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the independence of Kyrgyzstan, in which staff, students, undergraduates, graduate students and doctoral students took part. The participants discussed two reports on current problems of sociocultural and political transformations taking place in the world and Kyrgyzstan.
Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of the Department of Philosophy KRSU Aigul Bektanova in his message «The emergence of statehood in Kyrgyzstan in the context of political modernization» examined the pressing issues of the current state and prospects for the development of Kyrgyzstan as a state in the context of political modernization aimed at consolidating democratic values in society and achieving political and socio-economic stability.
The second report ««Good Society» as an image of the future» was made online by Ekaterina Koval, Doctor of Philosophy, Chief Researcher of the Department of Scientific Research of the Middle Volga Institute (branch) of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education «All-Russian State University of Justice». S with great interest, the author and participants discussed conceptual models «of a good society» and put forward hypotheses about the construction of such a society, which has a set of value-normative and institutional characteristics and is based on social trust and openness.
According to tradition, as part of the celebration of Philosophy Day, senior students of the department were initiated and accepted junior colleagues (1st-2nd year students) into the community of philosophers.
