Russian Language Day – Birthday of A. Pushkin
June 6th in Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after. First President of the Russian Federation B. Yeltsin the ceremonial part of the series of events dedicated to the Year of the Russian Language and the celebration of the birthday of A. Pushkin (224th anniversary of his birth) took place. Teachers, students and guests gathered on the site near the main building of KRSU, where a monument to the great poet was erected.
Director of the Institute of Russian Language named after. A. Orusbaeva M. Tagaev opened the festive meeting and gave the floor to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic N. Udovichenko: «I cordially greet those gathered! This memorable day was included in the International Calendar in 2010 and, by decision of the UN, was timed to coincide with the birthday of A. Pushkin». The Ambassador quoted the words of Ch. Aitmatova: «Whoever loves A. Pushkin cannot help but love the Russian language». In modern conditions, Russian, as before, is assigned the role of the language of interethnic communication.
A series of events dedicated to the Year of the Russian Language is planned in Kyrgyzstan and the CIS countries for the entire 2023. Our countries have decided to build nine secondary schools with Russian as the language of instruction by the Russian Federation on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Ambassador wished our university to strengthen its capacity in preserving and strengthening the Russian language in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Then the floor was given to acting by the rector of KRSU G. Lotsev, who said that Russian Language Day is a special holiday for students and teachers of the university. Every day and each of us must work to strengthen Russian as the language of interethnic communication in Kyrgyzstan.
The next word was taken by the well-known Pushkinist in the Kyrgyz Republic G. Soronkulov. He addressed the younger generation, recalling that Pushkin was one of the first to touch upon the topic of Eurasianism. Pushkin's poems always contained calls for peace and tolerance.
WITH. Suslova – People's Poet of Kyrgyzstan –, following others, congratulated her on the holiday and read her poems. One of them expresses her attitude towards languages and authors who worked in Russian and Kyrgyz.
After this, an award ceremony was held following an essay competition on the role of the Russian language. As part of the ceremony, participants were awarded certificates and presented with memorable prizes. Also, the winners of I and II degrees were invited to Moscow under the RUDN Summer School program.
The ceremonial part ended with a concert, where students of the humanities demonstrated their creative potential, not only reading poetry, but also performing musical works on national instruments.
The holiday lasted with a meeting with a representative of RUDN University, candidate of pedagogical sciences E. Lavrova and online – with other employees of the Russian Language Institute of Peoples' Friendship University.
In her speech, Professor of KGNU named after. Zh. Balasagyna N. Akhmetova noted the importance of the official role of the Russian language, its importance in the media and the training of teaching staff. The Russian language is a civilizational resource of our republic.
The voices of 500 performers of the international poetry marathon (51 countries) were heard. 11 video essays were presented from Kyrgyzstan.
A scientific and methodological seminar (lecturer – E. Lavrova) is scheduled for June 7-8 in the building of the Faculty of Humanities KRSU.
