Good news from the Indian Peninsula!
Last week, several medical universities in Kyrgyzstan shared good news on social networks that a number of their former graduates – Indian citizens recently successfully passed the exam in their homelandFMGE), without which it is impossible to obtain a license to conduct medical activities.
Indeed, according to the requirements of the National Medical Council, all Indian citizens who have received primary medical qualifications in educational institutions abroad must pass the FMGE test, the main purpose of which is – primary registration in the homeland as confirmation of the equivalence of the education received. The test itself includes 300 questions (150 cover problems of fundamental disciplines and the same number – of clinical medicine). The primary pass mark is 150. This exam is not easy for yesterday's graduates, but it provides the opportunity to further undergo internships at clinical sites in India, after which they take an exam for permanent registration in the state health care system and acquire the right to work as a doctor.
The first graduation of English-medical general practitioners at the KRSU Faculty of Medicine took place in the 2020-2021 academic year. Then medical diplomas were awarded to 17 Indian students. Of these, 12 people confirmed their knowledge and received admission to medical practice, which is 70.5% of the total number of graduates that year.
A similar exam in India for representatives of the 2nd graduating class took place on January 20 of this year and also ended well: out of 47 representatives, 25 successfully passed this test, which amounted to 53%. At the same time, Rakoti Bhaviashri, a former student of the LDi-4-16 group (225 points), answered the test questions as correctly as possible.
