Friendship for the benefit of studying
On August 12, the rector of KRSU Vladimir Nifadiev met with representatives of the United Russian military base in the Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting was attended by the deputy commander of the unit for military-political work Evgeny Koshelev, director of secondary school № 2 of the Russian Ministry of Defense Lyubov Belokoneva, vice-rector for information and public relations Leonid Sumarokov.
Having familiarized themselves with the results of the educational process and the scientific achievements of the university, the guests of the university spoke about the activities of the Russian military in Kyrgyzstan, shared their experience in organizing educational work at a school operating on the territory of the aviation base «Kant» and teaching children of military personnel and service personnel of Russian military units. It was noted that many school graduates choose KRSU as their further place of study.
The meeting participants exchanged views on priorities in cooperation between the university and the Russian military, prospects for military personnel and members of their families receiving additional professional education on the basis of the Scientific and Methodological Center for Retraining and Advanced Training of the university. The university management congratulated the guests on Russian Air Force Day, celebrated on August 12, and donated books published in KRSU to the airbase school «Kant».
The joint Russian military base on the territory of Kyrgyzstan was created on the basis of an agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation dated September 20, 2012. The agreement came into force on January 29, 2017. The Joint Russian Military Base includes an aviation base «Kant» designed for air support of units of the ground component of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian region, as well as to ensure the security of the air borders of Kyrgyzstan. The base can be used in the interests of the unified CIS air defense system.
