Guest lecture on family law at KRSU

The Department of Civil Law and Procedure KRSU organized a guest lecture on the topic: «Family law issues in the focus of constitutional justice».

The lecture was given by Ainura Osmonalieva, an independent expert and practicing lawyer who shared her experience in the Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic. She spoke about two significant cases that caused a public outcry: the recognition as unconstitutional of the resolution banning the transfer of children to HIV-infected citizens and the issue of matrimony/matronyms in the legislation of Kyrgyzstan.

Ainura Osmonalieva also discussed changes in the Constitutional Court that took effect on 6 October 2023, giving the court new powers to review its decisions. During the lecture, she spoke about her experience in building a legal position on Constitutional Court cases.

The event was attended by 1st and 2nd year master's students, students of civil law specialization and teachers of the Faculty of Law KRSU.
