Results of the Annual Distance Olympiad in the Russian language among 10th grade students
October 16, 2024 Institute of Russian Language of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after. the first President of the Russian Federation B. N. Yeltsin (IRYA KRSU) in partnership with the Russian Language Institute of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. P. Lumumba (RUDN, Moscow) held the annual distance Olympiad in the Russian language, dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet, prose writer, artist and playwright Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov (1814–1841).
Schoolchildren of the 10th grade of secondary schools of the Kyrgyz Republic with Russian, Kyrgyz and Uzbek languages of instruction were invited to participate in the Olympiad.
The purpose of the Olympiad was to awaken interest in the individual, the life of Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov, a thoughtful and careful attitude towards the Russian word, as well as to improve the general cultural level of students.
The Olympiad tasks were compiled on a test basis, the questions related to facts of biography and creativityy poet.
This year, schoolchildren from all regions of the republic took part in the Olympiad, the number of participants was 117 people.
In their works, students did not fully reflect the preparation in the subject that corresponded to the school curriculum, and in many cases they resorted to the help of the Internet.
The works were assessed according to several criteria - knowledge of language theory, the ability to apply the rules in practice, as well as the ability to express one’s thoughts in writing.
The main objectives of the Olympiad dedicated to M. Yu. Lermontov are – expanding the horizons of the younger generation, accumulating multifaceted knowledge, including through an appeal to the life and work of outstanding personalities and the works of great classics.

Diplomas and gift certificates will be presented to the winners of the Olympiad at the award ceremony, which will take place on October 23, 2024 at the Institute of Russian Language KRSU at the address: Chui ave., 44, Humanitarian building KRSU.
