Results of the dramatization competition «Russian soul in the plays of A. Ostrovsky – from the 19th to the 21st centuries»
As part of the Year of the Russian Language, from March 23 to April 21, 2023, the A. Orusbayev Institute of Russian Language of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University successfully held a competition of dramatizations of A. Ostrovsky’s works, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Russian writer. Students of grades 9-11 from secondary schools with Russian, Kyrgyz and Uzbek languages of instruction were invited to participate in the event.
The purpose of the educational competition was to introduce students to independent research work, develop skills in working in mini-groups for in-depth study of the Russian language and knowledge of Russian culture through Russian literary classics, to introduce students to the originality of merchant culture, the exponent of which was largely A. Ostrovsky, teach schoolchildren to see relevant, modern content in a classic work of the 19th century.
The submitted videos were evaluated according to the following criteria:
- selection of the work;
- artistry;
- the use of means of expressive reading (logical stress, intonation, tempo, timbre, emotional-expressive coloring of the performance) to realize the author’s artistic intention;
- the accuracy of the participants’ diction in the dramatization;
- interaction (play moments) of the mini-group on stage.
Students of grades 9-11 from secondary schools with Russian, Kyrgyz and Uzbek languages of instruction took part in the competition. The total number of competitors was 56 people – schools in Batken, Issyk-Kul and Chui regions.
The winners were participants who showed high artistry, preparation and ability to work in mini-groups. Each team demonstrated talent and creativity, as well as the ability to work in a team.
The competition program gave students the opportunity not only to reveal their creative potential, but also to think about the importance of studying the history and culture of the country, and also emphasized the importance of the Russian language and literature in our lives.
The winners I I the degrees in the competition were 9th grade students Secondary school № 17 named after. Absamata Masalieva, Kadamzhai, Batken region, for dramatizing the drama by A. Ostrovsky «The Thunderstorm». Roles performed by:

The winners II degrees the authors of the dramatization of the drama by A. Ostrovsky «Thunderstorm» – students have been identified 10th grade boarding school № 1, Razzakov, Batken region.

Teacher Taalaikan Mustafayevna Burkhanova, a teacher of Russian language and literature, prepared the children for the performance.
The winner III degrees <TAG1> dramatization of the play by A. Ostrovsky – Our people «will be numbered–, conducted by students 9th grade secondary school named after K. Chylabaev, p. Barskoon, Issyk-Kul region.

The group was prepared by teacher Tursunbubu Mukalykovna Arymbaeva, a teacher of Russian language and literature.
The award ceremony for the winners will take place on May 16, 2023, start – at 13:00, at the address: Kyiv st., 44, main building KRSU, 212 auditorium.
Diplomas to the winners and certificates to all competition participants will be sent to the participants’ personal email addresses from 10 to 16 May 2023.
