The KRSU team performed at the International Competition named after. F. Martens
from October 3 to October 7 it took place in Moscow XXIII International competition named after. F. Martens on International Humanitarian Law (IHL), in which teams from universities in Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part.
The team of the Faculty of Law KRSU consisting of A. Begaliev, B. Mambetkaliev and Siyazar K. Aiperi (our Department of International and Constitutional Law prepared the children for the performance) represented the Kyrgyz Republic at the competition.
On the way to a better understanding of IHL, students visited prisoners, wounded and sick in hospitals on the territory of warring countries, held negotiations with representatives of states, and took part in meeting UN Security Council.
All participating teams demonstrated a commitment to the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, as well as a high level of knowledge about the laws and customs of war.
The team from the KRSU Faculty of Law made a positive impression on the jury with their ability to apply knowledge of IHL in practice, argumentation and public speaking skills.
Students and coach of our team Nazira Tursunbaeva express gratitude to the ICRC Mission in Kyrgyzstan for the opportunity to travel to the competition and separately to legal adviser Umtul Murat kyzy for his support.
